Frequently Asked Questions
-
Book a free 30-minute consultation call. It's a chance to talk through what's bringing you here, ask any questions, and find out whether working together feels right - with no commitment either way.
-
No, the initial 30-minute consultation call is free.

My work combines structured psychological tools (the kind used in CBT) with practical, forward-looking coaching. In practice, this means we'll work on understanding what's happening for you and why, alongside building practical tools and a plan for moving forward. You don't need to know in advance which you need - that's something we work out together.
-
I offer a single session, a 6-session package, and top-up sessions once the core work is done.
Most clients find the 6-session package is where the real shift happens, since meaningful change in this phase of life usually takes more than one sitting - but we'll agree on the right shape of work together after your first session, and I'll let you know if I think more time would help.
-
Sessions usually last an hour. We'll typically meet weekly, though this can be adjusted if that's more helpful for you. Occasionally it's clinically useful to have a longer or shorter session, which we can discuss if it comes up.
-
Sessions are currently held online via Zoom, which offers end-to-end encryption for your privacy.
-
I'm based in Exeter, Devon, and work with clients both locally, across the UK and internationally via online sessions.
-
Yes. Everything you discuss with me is confidential, with limited exceptions - for example, if I have concerns about your safety or someone else's, or if I'm required to share information by a Court of Law. Where possible, I'll always discuss this with you first. You can read more in my Privacy Statement.
-
Single sessions and top-ups are £130 per hour. The 6-session package is £702 (a 10% saving on the single-session rate). Full details are in my Services I offer section.
-
Payment depends on how your sessions are funded. If you're self-funding, fees are invoiced monthly and paid by bank transfer. If a family member or other third party is funding your sessions, the same arrangement applies to them, while the content of your sessions remains confidential to us. If you're funded through an insurer or an EAP provider such as IPRS Health, payment is arranged directly with them, in line with their authorisation process.
-
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full - please get in touch as soon as you can, and we'll try to find an alternative time where possible.
-
I'll always let you know with as much notice as possible if I'm taking a break, for example for holiday. Occasionally sessions may need to be rearranged at shorter notice, due to illness or other circumstances - if this happens, I'll offer you an alternative time as soon as I can.
-
I don't offer an emergency or out-of-hours service. If you're in crisis or at immediate risk, please contact 999, go to A&E, or call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7). If I become concerned about your immediate safety during a session, we'll talk through what to do and how to access appropriate help.
